Super Smash Bros manual (you can access from the Home Screen as well).
Test your skills in a straight-up Smash! Play against the CPU or with your friends
Special Smash is only available in the Wii U version. In this mode, you can set various rules for a Smash battle. You can set fighter health to Stamina mode, equip fighters with items, make all fighters move at high speed, and more.
For the first time ever in the Smash Bros. series, you can play with up to eight players at once!
Only the Time and Stock rule settings can be used in 8-Player Smash. In Team Battles, you can fight with up to four teams. (Team colors are red, blue, green, and yellow.) Also, only some of the stages are available in 8-Player Smash.
A host of characters like Mario, Link, and Kirby leave their own games to get together and fight! Attack opponents to send them flying and knock them off stages. You can battle nearby friends and players across the globe via the Internet, too.
Send Opponents Flying
Hit opponents to increase their damage percentages. The more damage opponents have, the farther you can send them flying.
Use powerful Smash attacks to send opponents flying completely off stages.
When You Get Launched...
If you get launched off a stage you can use jumps and special moves to return to the stage and continue to fight.
Change settings and make the match your own!
You can choose With Friends, With Anyone or Spectate when playing online.
You can play online with just Friends. You can set up any rules you want. The player who first opens the room sets the rules for the first match. For each subsequent match, the player who finishes in last place can set up the rules.
Play with people from all over the world!
For Fun stages are selected randomly from all stages except Final Destination. All items will appear. Only the number of matches you win will be recorded.

In previous games in the series, if you chose the red team in a team battle, your Mario would have been red. But now you can choose any color you want! The color outlining the characters will show their team affiliation.
Only Final Destination stages are used in For Glory. Final Destination stages are flat stages with no platforms either above or below (Ω Form). Items will not appear. All battle stats, including the number of losses, will be recorded.
Almost all stages have a Final Destination version.
- Smash: Play for Glory with other players.
- 1-on-1: Just you and a rival.
- Team Smash: A 2-on-2 team battle. Represent your team colour!
- Records: Look back at your online match results so far.

A panel in the Challenges area will unlock everytime you clear a challenge. When you unlock a panel, you'll see hints for unlocking panels directly adjacent to it on all sides. And this time, each panel will unlock pictures related to the challenge. This is tougher than it looks, you know? The challenges in the 3DS version are a little on the easy side, but the Wii U version challenges might be a bit trickier.

There are three sub-modes in the Stadium: Multi-Man Smash, Home-Run Contest and the all-new Target Blast.
In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!
What's up with this bomb? This looks like the stadium for the Home-run Contest, but there's no bat. Once you touch the bomb, it begins to count down. Give it enough damage and launch it at the right time...then once the bomb's countdown hits zero...!!
...It goes BOOOOOM! Not only will the blast destroy targets, but it'll also cause a chain reaction by using shattered walls and bomb blocks--all of which contributes to you getting a high score!! This is a new activity that combines the concepts of Target Smash and the Home-run Contest--it's called Target Blast! Your final score is the total you rack up over two rounds. Of course, your Target Blast scores contribute to your Global Smash Power, too.
Home-run Contest, a returning mini-game on the Wii U version! It's been streamlined with added features here and there, like sturdier glass and doubled speed for long hits. You can also have fun comparing your rankings for this mini-game with your Global Smash Power.
Futhermore, this is what the screen looks like after you click on Solo. In the Stadium, you can find the Home-Run Contest, various Multi-Man Smash challenges, and Target Blast!
Choose between Master or Crazy Orders.
Spend gold to take on challenges for prizes.
Crazy Order requires gold or special passes to play.
Classic mode in the Wii U version is set up like a battle coliseum with multiple fighters teamed up with each other. Move your trophy and join in anywhere you want. You can see faint images of stages on the platform--the number of fighters clustered on those images indicates the number of fighters you'll face. As you can see, this feature leverages the fact that the game supports multiplayer with up to eight players.
After each battle, the fighters that lost get blown away!! The fighters remaining on the field will once again team up with other fighters on the field. You can actually choose fighters you've blown away to join your team in team battles. A rival will always appear in this mode, and the longer that character survives, the stronger it will get.

The Wii U version has an excellent Sounds collection! The design looks nice for a sound test screen, doesn't it? The font color for the 'Remix' text on remixed songs comes in pink or white. The pink ones are songs arranged for this version of Super Smash Bros., while the white ones are remixes made in earlier Smash Bros. games. This means there are reoccuring songs from past releases.
Take a look back over your game milestones and stats.
