Group

Play against people nearby who have their own copy of the game!

Smash Vs. CPU

A host of characters like Mario, Link, and Kirby leave their own games to get together and fight! Attack opponents to send them flying and knock them off stages. You can battle nearby friends and players across the globe via the Internet, too.
Send Opponents Flying
Hit opponents to increase their damage percentages. The more damage opponents have, the farther you can send them flying.

Use powerful Smash attacks to send opponents flying completely off stages.

When You Get Launched...
If you get launched off a stage you can use jumps and special moves to return to the stage and continue to fight.

Check here how to unlock all the characters on the game.

For Fun Team Smash

In previous games in the series, if you chose the red team in a team battle, your Mario would have been red. But now you can choose any color you want! The color outlining the characters will show their team affiliation.

For Glory

Only Final Destination stages are used in For Glory. Final Destination stages are flat stages with no platforms either above or below (Ω Form). Items will not appear. All battle stats, including the number of losses, will be recorded.
Almost all stages have a Final Destination version.

- Smash: Play for Glory with other players.
- 1-on-1: Just you and a rival.
- Team Smash: A 2-on-2 team battle. Represent your team colour!
- Records: Look back at your online match results so far.

Challenge

A panel in the Challenges area will unlock everytime you clear a challenge. When you unlock a panel, you'll see hints for unlocking panels directly adjacent to it on all sides. And this time, each panel will unlock pictures related to the challenge. This is tougher than it looks, you know? The challenges in the 3DS version are a little on the easy side, but the Wii U version challenges might be a bit trickier.

Check here the unlockables of the game.

You'll receive gold for each opponent you knock over the edge! However, if your token gets knocked off, the game ends.

All-Star

In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!

Training

Practise with each fighter at your own pace and with your own preferred settings.

Stadium

There are three sub-modes in the Stadium: Multi-Man Smash, Home-Run Contest and the all-new Target Blast.

Multi-Man Smash

In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!

Target Blast!

What's up with this bomb? This looks like the stadium for the Home-run Contest, but there's no bat. Once you touch the bomb, it begins to count down. Give it enough damage and launch it at the right time...then once the bomb's countdown hits zero...!!

...It goes BOOOOOM! Not only will the blast destroy targets, but it'll also cause a chain reaction by using shattered walls and bomb blocks--all of which contributes to you getting a high score!! This is a new activity that combines the concepts of Target Smash and the Home-run Contest--it's called Target Blast! Your final score is the total you rack up over two rounds. Of course, your Target Blast scores contribute to your Global Smash Power, too.

Home-Run Contest

Home-run Contest, a returning mini-game on the 3DS version! It's been streamlined with added features here and there, like sturdier glass and doubled speed for long hits. You can also have fun comparing your rankings for this mini-game with your Global Smash Power.

Custom

You can collect custom parts and then use them to customize characters.
Check here how to unlock all the custom moves, outfits and hats on the game.

Mii Fighters

Customize your characters in the Custom section. It sounded better to customize 'characters' instead of 'fighters,' so that's what we went with. There are various ways to customize, but make sure you remember to set up the powers you're bringing with you before playing a round of Smash Run.

With custom parts, you can also change your fighter's hat and clothing.

You won’t be able to use Mii Fighters when you fight With Anyone online, but the plan is to enable this feature With Friends online.

Check here how to unlock all the outfits and hats on the game.

Characters

You can collect custom parts and then use them to customize characters.
Check here how to unlock all the custom moves, outfits and hats on the game.

Equippable Items

Equippable items are classified as another type of custom part. You can use these to power-up fighters.
You can equip up to 3 equippable items at a time. Equippable items fall into attack, defense, or speed categories.
It's not a simple matter of powering up every attribute, though. You can make it tougher for opponents to send you flying but pay for it with slower movement, or you can move more quickly but offset that advantage with weaker attacks. Your character's strength changes with each of the adjustments you make.
You collect equippable items in the various game modes. The items may have the same name, but their performance will be slightly different.
Incidentally, the way the character looks will not change.

Customize Special Attacks

One type of custom part lets you change the special attacks of fighters like Mario and Donkey Kong.
Each fighter possesses four special attacks; standard special, side special, up special, and down special. Each of these can be customized, however, so there are three variations for each direction. This means there are two classifications for special attacks: basic and custom.
However, Mii Fighters and Palutena don't have spin-off variations, but rather completely unique types of attacks.
You cannot use custom parts when playing With Anyone online. Please use these when playing With Friends.

Sounds

The 3DS version has an excellent Sounds collection! The design looks nice for a sound test screen, doesn't it? The font color for the 'Remix' text on remixed songs comes in pink or white. The pink ones are songs arranged for this version of Super Smash Bros., while the white ones are remixes made in earlier Smash Bros. games. This means there are reoccuring songs from past releases.
